Scope

Structured cabling and network infrastructure
Cat6 and Cat6A copper, fiber, racks, IDF and MDF rooms, and Wi-Fi. New construction, expansions, and cleaning up cabling that grew without a plan.
Security systems
Cameras, access control and alarm. Laid out around how the building is actually used and who has to get where. AESBL #1617.
Audio-video
Conference rooms, background audio, displays and control systems. Set up so the people who use the room can run it without a manual.
Facilities and systems support
Ongoing, retainer-style responsibility for a site's systems. The person who knows the building answers the phone.

About

CJ Jones spent about a decade at Apple before he started his own company. That is where he learned how IT should be run and how people should be treated when it breaks: the support discipline, the customer service, the insistence that the thing simply works.

Started looking after the IT that small businesses run on: the network, the email, the machines on people's desks.
The physical side
The work kept pulling toward the cabling in the walls, the cameras at the door, and the rooms where the audio and the picture have to work every time. For several years he helped run an audio-video and home automation company.
Day to day
He carries the systems for a hospitality property with multiple tenants and live venues, among them a listening lounge built around a Dolby Atmos system with 85,000 watts of amplification behind it. The network, the cameras, and the audio and video all have to hold up on a Saturday night. That is the standard he brings to a job site.
2025 · Ulo Pro
All of it under one name. Most of the work is lake houses; a smaller amount is commercial.

Ulo Pro is owner-operated. The person who walks the house and writes the proposal is the person on the ladder, and the same person answers the phone afterward. That keeps the scope honest and the change orders short.
